"It seems Jordi Alba can be ready but Adriano has more problems, so we'll see if Luis Enrique needs some Barcelona B players"
The main concern of Luis Enrique right now is to recover Jordi Alba for the begining of La Liga this Sunday in San Mamés. Piqué and Mathieu are banned, Douglas is injured Adriano has physical problems, so having Alba fit wold be great.
On August 5 in the Joan Gamper Trophy against Roma, Jordi Alba suffered an injury on his right leg and it was said he would be 15 days out. After this period the club has not communicated his medical condition, but there is hope that he will be available to debut in La Liga.
Barcelona B coach, Gerard López, spoke about the situation at a press conference and gave a hint: "It seems that Jordi Alba can be ready, but Adriano still has physical problems. We'll see if Luis Enrique needs some B players." In fact, in today's first-team training Gerard Gumbau and Juan Cámara, from Barcelona B, completed the squad—although they are midfielders.
If Jordi Alba does not recover in time, the defense likely to play against Athletic would be made up by Dani Alves, Bartra, Mascherano and Vermaelen as left-back. There are no more defenders.
In training session, Aleix Vidal was congratulated as today he turns 26. The team will train back on Saturday at 9:30 am (CEST) and afterwards Luis Enrique will speak in press conference.
